HRM Days 2007
.
The Market Basket (Discovery Cooking) Contest yielded three winners: Kent Francis Mercado garnered first prize, Revan Navalatan placed second, while Hannahlene Albarico scored the third award.
The Napkin Folding challenge heralded six winners. Jamel Abarquez received the first prize, Marilie Labidon placed second, while the cluster ofMaylinel Alburo, Radiana Lepalam, Ma. Lourds Manubag, and Reynante Reyes emerged third place.
In the Bed Making category Joan Calderon and Jefferson Tulay earned first place, Joederic Navoa and Queenie Marie Salinas placed second, and the duo of Teresita Heyrana and Peter Jude Russiana scored third prize.
From the morning until the afternoon, the Marketing Products of the students of Ms. Rhea Embalzado, Ms. Joyce Navarro, Mr. Ramil Pepito and Mr. D. Oribe, as well as the Market! Market! (Tabo sa Banay) and the Food Processing demonstration, both by the students of HRM 1C teachers, bedecked the lobby, allowing the undergraduates to hawk their prepared culinary treats, and yes even their very own processed meat products—which were affordably priced― much to the delight of any hoarder.
A throng hurriedly gathered during the Fruit and Vegetable Carving led by Mr. Mario Ramil Pepito, as he and his student effortlessly impressed an outsized flower, and a vase out of two large watermelons.
On another side, a student demonstrated threading a chorizo with ease, while a table filled of an array of processed meat as sweet ham, luncheon meat, beef tapa, pork tapa and skinless longanisa were laid on wicker baskets wrapped with a white cloth.
But, the most arresting would have to be the college’s take on a wedding reception. A match made only in UC heaven had a full carpet showered with rose petals, tables beautifully placed― complimented with mantles in the soft color of old rose, a grand gazebo decked with yellow roses, anthoriums, pink and white gladioli, while two candidates of the college’s upcoming pageant, Sean and Maxhel, paired together to play husband and wife. The rest of the college, after completing their creation, could not help but appreciate it by taking an electronic autograph― thru a picture—and posing for it, too.
