The UC community was in joyous commotion during the Commerce Accountancy days on March 9 and 10, 2007 and for brain-teasing and eye-catching reasons.

Themed “Balancing oneself for excellence,” the College of Commerce and Accountancy started the two-day affair with the Eucharistic Celebration and was followed by six quiz bowls held all throughout the day. There were the Banking and Finance, Accountancy levels 1 and 2, Management Accounting, Management, General Information, Tall Tales, and Salesmanship quizzes which were avidly watched by the audience.

For the Management Accounting, 1st prize went to Kirsten Maulit, Roseller Lojut and Chanel Plinner; 2nd prize to Mary Rose Braquil, Sugar Yuson, and Mariechit Yumol; and 3rd prize to Jocelyn Bacolod, Chamee Pepito and Mila Pantinople
In Salesmanship, Ronald Carnice came out on top, as Neddie Jim Pelonio and Eldren Heraldia came second and third respectively.
In the Management quiz category, Jonnah Borromeo, May Ann Gapot, and Joan Latonio grabbed the top slot; while Gerald Dumlao, Harrest Labra, and Gladys Lopez came in second; and Jennipeth Simbajon, Larry Tuñacao, and Maria Rebecca Calma garnered the third prize.
Von Victor Echo garnered the third prize for General Information, as Gerald Dunglao and James Dane Monecillo came second and third, respectively.
The Accountancy Level One category was bannered by Jeramael Villaver, as Hazel Grace Apa came second, while Kristy Alivio of UC-LM came third.
The group of Dee Mark Anor, Jan Rose Taneo, and Leonora Catam-isan shined in the Banking and Finance quiz, as the group of Janice Bolo, Angelie Ivy Sandoval, and Kennth Villahermosa came second as Editha Abella, Madel Argawan and Irene Maluluy-on settled with the third prize.
Sam Lloyd Lawan achieved the first prize in the Tall Tales, seconded by Dante Cerna, while Mary Blanche Aleones was third.

On the second day, the department played the Pinoy relay games and had a disco in the evening.
But the most memorable was the campus visit of actors Richard “Goma” Gomez with his beautiful wife Lucy and friend Annabel Rama on the first day of the event.
The celebrity visitors literally had all the people in the school scrambling to catch a glimpse. They took turns in giving short messages. Goma snatched phrases of Cebuano words, courting the voting public to cast their votes in his favor for a Senate seat. He promoted sports among the youth and offered a good example to emulate with his impressive credentials, being a UP Diliman graduate and a celebrated word-class athlete. But undeniably, it was his striking matinee idol looks that roused the crowd wild.
