UC Main stude to visit Korea for free

Jan Calvin N. Gamulo, a senior student from the College of Information and Computer Science (ICS) of the UC Main campus was picked to visit Korea in the company of student representatives from prestigious schools such as Ateneo de Manila and De La Salle University.
Gamulo was nominated by his instructor, Mr. Marcial Chiu, Chairman of the UC Main Languages Department. His itinerary covered the cities of Seoul, Suwon, Yongin, Ilsan, Gongju, Pohang, Gyeongju, Ulsan, Busan, and Cheongwon from June 11 until 21, 2007.
Organized by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources (MOEHR) of the Republic of Korea, the program intends to encourage the interest of foreign students about Korea. The trip will allow the nominated students to discover the host nation’s industrial, historical and cultural landmarks. Their itinerary will include visits to sets of various popular Korean telenovelas. The Ministry will provide the delegates with roundtrip airfare, food and accommodation. Upon Gamulo’s return, he is required to write an essay about his trip.
Gamulo is a consistent dean’s lister and candidate to various inter-school competitions. He used to be a member of the UC Theater Workshop Company.
