"Dear Peace"

The Communication Foundation of Asia (CFA), a non-stock, non-profit organization in cooperation with the UC Student Affairs Office and UC Council of Presidents joined together for a very worthwhile project, "Dear Peace".

Last May 2006, CFA embarked on a journey of twenty-nine Christian and Muslim high school students in a peace camp entitiled "Impressions of Conflict, Expressions of Peace". The camp was launched in partnership with the Bishops-Ulama Conference, CBCP - Episcopal Commision on Inter-religious Dialogue, National Council of the Churches in the Philippines (NCCP) and the Focolare Movement among others. THis collaboration envisions peace between young Christians and Muslims, despite a long history of conflict.

During the camp, the delegates made paintings, songs, videos and such which represented their insights on conflicts, peace and friendships.

These artworks were featured in a mini-exhibit at the UC EDP Hall last November 14-15, 2007. There was also a 30-minute film viewing of a documentary video produced by CFA that promotes peace awareness among conflicting beliefs.

The event was witnessed by all UCnians, from elementary to college and was indeed very commendable.
