A huge event struck the university last November 17, 2007. It was "Hatch", a financial literacy seminar by the renowned Colayco Foundation adn CitiBank Foundation.

The event happened at the New Cebu Coliseum, 9 o'clock in the morning and was particiapted by 2,000 CWTS students. The activity was part of the CWTS opening program for the second semester.

The Colayco Foundation for Education, Inc. (CFE) is an organization dedicated in actively promoting "financial literacy" among the students. To fill the void and to reach out to a bigger audience and spread the good news about financial independence, CFE uses educational books, television and radio program guestings, write news articles and hold literacy seminars, and one of which happened here in the university.

The President of the Colayco Foundation, Dr. Francisco J. Colayco together with Ms. Jennifer Ursua as the Project Manager and Mr. Armand Q. Bengco as the Executive Manager, headed the event. The students were given a "Hatch" Kit, with a "Hatch" cd that gives the students some insights about spending, planning, saving and investing. There was also a game that gives monetary prices to students, which ranges to a thousand pesos each winner, books & loading sim cards.

Pictures of the event were aired in the Rush TV at Studio 23 days after the event. Students were very satisfied by the event. Indeed, it was a very successful one.
