UC computer achievers of the year
The University of Cebu College of Information Science under the deanship of Dr. Ma. Salud Medida de los Santos together with the College of Computer Engineering under Dean Engr. Virginia de la Cerna reported on the outstanding accomplishments in their respective colleges for the School Year 2003-2004.
UC Computer Science representatives Jeslee C. Cuizon and Ed C. Layco emerged Champion in the Inter-School Computer Quiz sponsored by the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) on 29 November 2003. They had Faculty Coaches Eric P. Ortega, Moma de la Torre, and Janet S. Sismar. They were Second Placer in the Regional Computer Quiz sponsored by the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) on 23 March 2004.
Computer Engineering’s excellence was also proven when UC representatives garnered the Championship in the Inter-School Quiz Bowl during the Computer Engineering Week Celebration, Second Semester 2003-2004 at USC with Michael Gabi, Ronnie Arangali, and Gerson Bacor.
The team of Juanito Mier and Benjie Melgar came Second Placer in the Inter-School Computer Engineering Quiz Bowl at CIT on 28 February 2004. Cultural prowess was noted when the Bunok-bunok Group represented by the Third Year Computer Engineering students became Champion in the Cultural Festival during the UC Intramurals in September 2003.
