Internet Recruitment network taps Cebuanos
JobsDB Philippines, Inc., the Philippine branch of Asia’s leading internet recruitment network, continues to expand its reach in its ongoing search for quality manpower to field as candidates for hiring corporations, by tapping into taent outside Metro Manila, specifically Cebu.
It recently established alliances with leading Cebuano educational institutions such as te University of Cebu and the Cebu Normal University. The Cebu Normal University(CNU), which specializes in education, points to an extremely in high passing rate for its students taking the licensure board exams. Viray says that employers based in Metro Manila and other provincial cities will now have greater opportunities to screen and hire the graduates of these two universities.
"Philippine schools are always in need of good educators, and IT companies here and overseas are alaways looking for skilled people. This partnership creates a bridge wherein the cream of the Cebu crop and the most competitive Philippine employers can find each other". Both UC and CNU also see to it that their curricula are in sync with skills and other competencies required by the companies and that the knowledge and abilities their graduates and alumni bring with them are relevant to their employers.
Maria Salud delos Santos, the Dean of UC’s College of Information and Computer Science, elaborates on how close ties established with employers guarantee that their students are always updated on current technological trends, "We talk to the industries after each qualifying exam and ask for feedback. They tell us that our students are really good in technology and application".

Says Filomena Tongco-Dayagbil, CNU’s Dean of the College of Teacher Education, "They provide us training- we allow our student to be trained by them on how to use ICT in education for a very minimal cost."
