University of Cebu promotes teachers
Ten instructors from various departments of the University of Cebu received commendations during the Faculty Ranking presentation rite last May 9, 2005.
The teachers who were given commendations were: Rebecca Ancheta, Rose Alforque, Teresa Orayon, Grace Silab and Joseph Emerson Subong from the College of Commerce and Accountancy;
Maximo Caballes of the College of Physical Education; Elena Camilo of the College of Hotel and Restaurant Management; Emily Jean Gonzales of the College of Liberal Arts; Eduardo Espiritu of the College of Computer Science;
and Engr. William Tandingan of the College of Allied Engineering.
Faculty Ranking determines a teachers initial faculty position and his subsequent advancement. The seven member Committee on Ranking, including the Chairperson and Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Erlinda P. Barcelo, based the assessment on each teachers educational
attainment and board exam, teaching experience, professional growth, community service and involvemet, and efficiency rating.
After the brief ceremony and awarding of certificates, Subong advanced to junior instructor A, Orayan is now junior instructor B, Espiritu became senior instructor C, Camilo is junior instructor C, Caballes is now senior instructor B, Alforque is junior instructor B while Ancheta advanced to senior instructor C. The other
teachers retained their ranks.
