“The university’s core value of Innovation could not be more apparent in this endeavor,” Ms. Ana Tranzona was heard saying during the My Globe UC SIM Roadshow on September 28, 2007 at the UC Banilad AVR 2. Her words rang true as the afternoon progressed with the Globe personnel enlightening the gathered university officers and a few student leaders.

The UC SIM offered by the carrier enables the prepaid subscribers—particularly the UC denizens ─access to events, announcements and grades, thru the My UC Mobile School Assistant.

The said affinity SIM is also compatible with G-cash, unlimited text and other Globe products.

Transactions like tuition and bill payments, donations and even passenger vessel tickets’ purchase can also be done through G-cash. “There will be no need to queue up at the cashier to pay for your tuition,” informed Victor San Pedro of Globe.

The UC populace can also be “more friendly with each other” with the special rates of 75 centavos per sms or text message and 10 centavos per second for voice calls.

Another merchandise promoted during the affair was the I-AMAX or the Instant Autoload Max by Payvenue. It was also mentioned that there will be a vending machine for it. The I-AMAX can also load on demand, even for those without load balance─ even thru a credit line deductible from the payroll for the UC employees who wish to retail.

The Roadshow was attended by some 80 UC personnel and key officers, and 24 students. It was organized by the UC Banilad Student Affairs Office and is a preview of the launching which is set on November 5, 2007. On the said date, 15,000 affinity sims were given out in the four UC Campuses.

The memorandum of agreement was inked on November 14, 2007 at the UC Main Conference Room.
