Events of January 2008

Top brass of Hanbat National University of Daejeon, Korea visited UC on December 11, 2007. The guests from the Korean university included Hanbat President Dr. Gong Ho Sul, Director of CIE Dr. Nam Kee-Wan, Professor of the Dept. of English Dr. Oh Ho-Jin, In-Charge of CIE International Affairs Mr. Hwang Seo-Pyo and Chief Secretary of the President Mr. Song Gang-Seob.

They met with UC Chancellor Ms. Candice Gotianuy, Vice Chancellors Atty. Nendell Hanz Abella, Atty. Baldomero Estenzo, together with Student and International Affairs In-charge Ms. Becky Ancheta.

On January 7, 2008 the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) awarded UC President Atty. Augusto W. Go with a plaque, in appreciation of his support for the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs of the government agency. TESDA Regional Director Rosanna A. Urdaneta was in the UC Main Campus to personally confer the prize. With her were TESDA staff Ms. Belen Y. Yntig and Ms. Nila F. Fidellaga.

The awarding was preceded by a brief meeting at the office of the UC President.

A Fire Safety Seminar and Evacuation Drill was held on January 17, 2008 at UC Main. UC personnel from various offices attended the brief discussion at the DVD Room which was led by Cebu City Fire Marshall of the Bureau of Fire Protection, SF04 Bernardo del Mar.

After the talk, a mock evacuation was conducted.
